Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paul Mandeville!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josue Souza!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Dean Styles and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souza darts in looking for a takedown but Mandeville gets double underhooks and turns Souza into the cage.
A little feinted left hand from Mandeville on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Josue Souza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Souza fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Souza is trying hard to land a takedown here. Mandeville sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Paul Mandeville has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josue Souza.
Mandeville throws a hook but Souza avoids it easily.
Souza shoots in looking for a takedown. Mandeville tries to sprawl out of it but Souza keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mandeville manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
An attempted straight right counter from Mandeville misses the target.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Souza.
Souza moves away from the strike by Mandeville.
We've been told by Mandeville's head coaches at Steel Penn Training Den that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Souza goes for a double leg but Mandeville avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Mandeville continues to drive forward.

Souza shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mandeville counters with a nice body shot.

Mandeville changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Mandeville sends Souza crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Mandeville is motioning to the referee to let Souza up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Souza is rocked!

It looks like Josue Souza has been cut.
Souza ducks into an uppercut from Mandeville and that's knocked him out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Paul Mandeville!
An out of breath Paul Mandeville thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
