Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abram Frost (ranked 5541 p4p, 5634 weight class) and Lester John Mate (ranked 458 p4p, 462 weight class). Abram Frost has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Abram Frost! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Lester John Mate! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shirou Masuda and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mate takes the fight into the clinch. Mate looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Frost tries for a takedown but Mate manages to get underhooks.
Mate prevents the takedown attempt.
Frost softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Frost misses with a body punch.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Abram Frost. That's going to take a lot out of him. Frost just leaning against Mate, taking a breather. Mate fails to pull guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mate is trying to push Frost away but Frost has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Frost drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Mate looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mate tries to circle away but Frost has him pinned against the cage. Mate gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Frost.

Frost taking a breather. Frost definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Frost is working for takedown but Mate is calmly controlling the position for now. Frost has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mate is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Mate taking a breather. Mate tries to throw a body punch but Frost avoids it by throwing Mate back against the cage. Frost has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Mate after a bit of a struggle.

A short uppercut from Frost. Frost lands on the inside with an uppercut. Mate blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Mate tries to stall but Frost uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Frost lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Mate tries to stall but Frost uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mate gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Frost.
The referee is keeping an eye on Frost - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Frost keeps control of Mate as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. Mate swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Frost stalls. Frost lands a nice elbow from the clinch. Both guys are working to get underhooks. Frost lands a good knee to the midsection. Mate won't want to take too many of those. Frost goes for a takedown in the clinch but Mate prevents it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Mate is defending well against a takedown attempt. Frost dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage. Frost trying to land knees to the body.

Frost wants the takedown. Mate is fighting it off but Frost persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Mate's guard against the cage. Frost lands a couple of digs. Frost is pushing down on Mate's leg trying to pass to half guard. Mate is fighting to maintain full guard but Frost has managed to sneak the leg through. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Frost keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Frost lands a nice short elbow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Abram Frost dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Mate instigates a clinch. Mate misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Mate has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Frost pressing his opponent against the cage. Frost is pushing Mate up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Frost has Mate pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Mate manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frost trying to land knees to the body.
Mate jumps guard but Frost turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Abram Frost has scored more points in the clinch so far. Mate is breathing heavily. Frost has picked Mate up - he's going for a ride! Frost dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard. Frost sitting and controlling from the half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frost has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Frost sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Frost has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Frost punishing his opponent with strikes.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frost is landing with some decent strikes but Mate is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Frost pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mate can do anything to dispel that myth. Frost punishing his opponent with strikes. Frost is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Mate can do to turn this around? Frost connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Mate is rocked! Frost lands a big shot to the head and Mate winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
