Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Doko Dokov (ranked 2760 p4p, 2851 weight class) and Motshan Bogachev (ranked 293 p4p, 305 weight class). Doko Dokov had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 156.8lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 27 - 50 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Doko Dokov! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Motshan Bogachev! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Saam Ante and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dokov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bogachev avoids it really well and circles away. Bogachev leaves Dokov with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bogachev darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
It looks like Doko Dokov has been cut. Dokov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bogachev paws at him with a jab and circles away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A right-left combo lands from Dokov. Bogachev keeps the fight on the outside. Dokov moves to clinch but Bogachev breaks away and Bogachev counters with an inside leg kick. Bogachev has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Bogachev feints and then cracks Dokov's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Dokov down.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bogachev digs a good body shot into Dokov's ribs. Bogachev looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Dokov throws a series of punches but Bogachev avoids them all with ease. Dokov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Bogachev scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Dokov shoots in looking for a takedown but Bogachev manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Dokov's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Doko Dokov. That's going to take a lot out of him. Bogachev swats away the attempt to clinch by Dokov. Nice jab there from Bogachev. Dokov on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Bogachev. Bogachev obviously looking to wear him down.
Bogachev sizes up Dokov with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Dokov throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Bogachev to counter with a crisp jab. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dokov moves to clinch but Bogachev breaks away and Bogachev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Dokov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bogachev is looking for a sweep. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dokov tries to score with some ground and pound. Bogachev controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. Dokov wants to stand but Bogachev has his arm trapped. Dokov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bogachev, who protects the arm well. The ground and pound from Dokov seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Bogachev manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Dokov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Bogachev is trying to get back to full guard. Dokov winds up and cracks Bogachev with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bogachev blocking the ground and pound attempt from Dokov. Nice strikes from Dokov there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bogachev makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bogachev. Dokov working some strikes from top position. Bogachev controlling Dokov's posture. Dokov would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Bogachev is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Dokov wanted to stand there but Bogachev had control of the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Bogachev looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dokov stands up from guard. Let's bang! Bogachev connects with a leg kick. Jab, jab by Bogachev - just one landing. Bogachev stuns Dokov with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Dokov doesn't manage to clinch there - Bogachev circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Bogachev as Dokov shoots in. Dokov backing away here, and Bogachev unleashes a leg kick that just misses. A chopping leg kick lands by Bogachev. Dokov is looking to clinch. Bogachev flicks out a counter leg kick but Dokov steps away. Bogachev lands a nice shot that snaps Dokov's head back.
Dokov closes the distance and clinches. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A head punch on the inside from Dokov fails to land. Bogachev tries to work over Dokov's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Bogachev struggles to land a body shot inside as Dokov controls his hands.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Motshan Bogachev dominated that round. The cut man is working on Doko Dokov's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Dokov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Bogachev counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Dokov tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bogachev manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Motshan Bogachev seems to be getting the better of the standup. Dokov moves out of range as Bogachev throws a body kick.
Dokov is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight. Dokov doesn't manage to clinch there - Bogachev circles away.

and Bogachev counters with a left and a right that stings Dokov. Dokov clinches up with Bogachev and pushes him back against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Dokov. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bogachev. Bogachev gets through Dokov's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bogachev is struggling to control the position. A head punch on the inside from Dokov fails to land. Dokov fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
That's one minute gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Bogachev manages to break the clinch.

Dokov clinches up against the cage. Bogachev tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Dokov's elbow. Dokov misses with a punch on the inside.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bogachev breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Dokov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Bogachev. Bogachev getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Bogachev scoring well with a low kick there.
Bogachev swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Dokov fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Left hook, right uppercut from Bogachev. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Dokov doesn't manage to clinch there - Bogachev circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A slapping leg kick lands for Bogachev.
This has been an exciting period of action! Bogachev lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Dokov misses with a double jab.
We've been told by Dokov's head coaches at 3Band MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dokov tries to clinch but Bogachev is having none of it. Bogachev lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. An inside leg kick lands from Bogachev. Dokov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bogachev swats him away and circles back towards the center. Dokov misses with an uppercut
and Bogachev counters with a low kick, right behind Dokov 's knee. Bogachev lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Bogachev dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Bogachev lands with a good body shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Dokov defending well as Bogachev loads up on a big left hand. Dokov takes one to the chin there.
Dokov is rocked!
Doko Dokov's cut is getting worse. Good leg kick by Bogachev. Oh Dokov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Bogachev closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Dokov! Bogachev dives in looking to finish! Dokov is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
