PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Chame Boxing Champ (ranked 1034 p4p, 1357 weight class) and John Edmonds (ranked 127 p4p, 172 weight class). Edmonds has chosen Frankie Smith - Double Dutch Bus as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 37 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Chame Boxing Champ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 43 - 35 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Edmonds!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boxing Champ leaves Edmonds with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Boxing Champ throws a big shot that misses.
Edmonds is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Edmonds throws a body punch but Boxing Champ moves out of range.

Boxing Champ has Edmonds up against the cage in a clinch.

Edmonds turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Edmonds manages to end up in side control.
Boxing Champ is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Kaptajnernes Træningscenter that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Boxing Champ is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Boxing Champ sneaks out the side door and pushes Edmonds away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Boxing Champ looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Edmonds is fending him off so far but Boxing Champ persists. Nope, Edmonds circles away and we're back to standing.
Edmonds lands a jab to the nose.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Edmonds throws an overhand right that lands on Boxing Champ's shoulder, as Boxing Champ tries to avoid the shot.
Boxing Champ throws a hook to the side of Edmonds's head but Edmonds sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Boxing Champ shoots in and drives through. Edmonds sprawls well.
Edmonds tests Boxing Champ's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Boxing Champ tries to clinch up but Edmonds circles away and keeps his distance.
Boxing Champ misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Edmonds connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Edmonds lands with a straight right. Boxing Champ didn't see that one coming.

Boxing Champ gets a takedown into half guard.
Edmonds is trying to maintain the position but Boxing Champ is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Edmonds manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Edmonds pulls Boxing Champ in close to his closed guard and prevents Boxing Champ from doing any damage or advancing position.
Edmonds keeping moving, preventing Boxing Champ from controlling successfully.

Edmonds utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Boxing Champ with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Boxing Champ postures up in Edmonds's guard and throws a big left but Edmonds blocks it.
Boxing Champ loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Edmonds keeping moving, preventing Boxing Champ from controlling successfully.
Boxing Champ sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Edmonds's guard.
Edmonds makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Edmonds.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Boxing Champ's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Boxing Champ postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boxing Champ accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Boxing Champ content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Edmonds has locked up a guillotine! Edmonds's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Boxing Champ is holding on here and Edmonds must be using up a lot of energy. Boxing Champ has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Edmonds gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). John Edmonds!
During a confident post fight interview, John Edmonds thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
