Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Johnson Jr (ranked 25452 p4p, 25073 weight class) and John Albertson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for James Johnson Jr has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Johnson Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Albertson! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson Jr shoots in looking for a takedown. Albertson tries to sprawl out of it but Johnson Jr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Albertson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. A head kick misses from Albertson. Johnson Jr gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Johnson Jr trying to keep a closed guard but Albertson is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Albertson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Albertson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Johnson Jr leaves Albertson with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johnson Jr appears to be looking for a big counter. No luck for Johnson Jr with that takedown attempt. John Albertson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Albertson shoots in looking for a takedown. Johnson Jr tries to sprawl out of it but Albertson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. A quick step to the side and Johnson Jr tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect. Johnson Jr darts in looking for a takedown but Albertson gets double underhooks and turns Johnson Jr into the cage. That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson Jr tries to close the distance and clinch but Albertson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nice sprawl there from Johnson Jr as Albertson shoots in. Johnson Jr tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Albertson swivels and escapes. Albertson looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Johnson Jr is breathing heavily. Albertson throws a right hand that Johnson Jr ducks under and follows up with a left that Johnson Jr also avoids with ease. A momentary lapse in concentration from Johnson Jr enables Albertson to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Johnson Jr manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Albertson working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Johnson Jr's head. Albertson sitting in guard, not really doing much. Johnson Jr keeping moving, preventing Albertson from controlling successfully. Albertson wanted to stand there but Johnson Jr had control of the position.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Albertson tries to stand but Johnson Jr is controlling from the bottom.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Johnson Jr shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Albertson drives through with a takedown into guard. Albertson tries to stand but Johnson Jr is controlling from the bottom. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Albertson shoots for a takedown but Johnson Jr saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Albertson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Albertson showed some decent athleticism there. Johnson Jr wants to improve his position but Albertson is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Albertson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Johnson Jr tries to reverse the position but Albertson maintains control. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Albertson fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Albertson has control of Johnson Jr's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Johnson Jr regains control of the situation pretty easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnson Jr throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing. Albertson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Johnson Jr's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up. Johnson Jr is bucking up trying to escape but Albertson cracks him with another couple of good strikes. Johnson Jr is in a horrible position here. Albertson smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnson Jr slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Albertson sitting and controlling from the half guard. Albertson winds up and cracks Johnson Jr with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Albertson wants to pass to mount but Johnson Jr is defending the position. Albertson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
John Albertson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!
Albertson shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Johnson Jr manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Johnson Jr manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson Jr is working an open guard so Albertson takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Johnson Jr fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Albertson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Albertson tries to score a power double leg takedown but Johnson Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Albertson somewhat. Excellent takedown into side control there by Albertson. Albertson lands an elbow.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Albertson controls the position. You can see the frustration on Johnson Jr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Albertson stands up and beckons Johnson Jr to his feet. Johnson Jr gets caught napping as Albertson dives in and scores a takedown. Johnson Jr manages to retain guard. Albertson wanted to stand there but Johnson Jr had control of the position. Albertson with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Albertson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Albertson connects with a couple of short punches.

Albertson stopping the sweep attempt from Johnson Jr. Albertson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Albertson with a nice head shot there. Johnson Jr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Johnson Jr being controlled here, momentarily.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Albertson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson Jr's guard. John Albertson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight. And that's the end of the fight! John Albertson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Albertson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
