Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Padraig Kelleher (ranked 1658 p4p, 1732 weight class) and John Peterson (ranked 220 p4p, 228 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Padraig Kelleher! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Peterson! The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Peterson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Kelleher doesn't seem bothered though. Peterson throws the left hand but Kelleher avoids the punch easily. John Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kelleher throws a shot from downtown. Peterson moves away and avoids it. Kelleher loads up on a big right hand but Peterson slips the punch. Kelleher sizes up Peterson with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
It looks like John Peterson has been cut. Kelleher moves out of range as Peterson strikes. Peterson closes the distance but Kelleher moves to the side enabling Kelleher to counter with a crisp jab. Peterson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Kelleher throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kelleher cracks Peterson with an open hand slap.
Peterson is rocked! Kelleher looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Kelleher lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Peterson at a distance.
Peterson tries to bum rush Kelleher with a series of wild strikes but Kelleher uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kelleher uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Peterson. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Peterson lands a jab to Kelleher's midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round. Peterson misses with a straight left. It looked like Kelleher wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Peterson misses the jab. Peterson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. Peterson clinches with his opponent.
Kelleher pushes Peterson back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Kelleher lands a right hand that snaps the head of Peterson backwards. Kelleher swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Kelleher drops Peterson onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Peterson is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet! Peterson is still on wobbly legs! Can Kelleher finish him? Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Kelleher works on Peterson's body with a couple of short punches. Kelleher softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Peterson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Peterson. Kelleher creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Peterson with a big uppercut! Peterson tries to clinch up but Kelleher pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Peterson to the mat! Peterson covers up and Kelleher unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Padraig Kelleher!
