Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Josh Daigle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ranger Romero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daigle comes to the cage accompanied by The State of Massachusetts -- Dropkick Murphys. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Josh Daigle! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ranger Romero! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daigle shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Daigle throws a big right hand that misses. Romero keeping moving, preventing Daigle from controlling successfully. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Daigle accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Romero working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Romero has his foot on Daigle's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Daigle works his way back into a safe position though. Daigle working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Daigle stopping the sweep attempt from Romero. Romero is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Romero looking for a guillotine here but Daigle defends easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero looking to hit a scissor sweep but Daigle is one step ahead there. Romero utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Daigle looking to sit in guard and control but Romero gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Romero postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Daigle wants to stand but Romero is controlling the position. Daigle wants to sweep but no luck.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Romero trying to control the position from guard on top but Daigle is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Daigle is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Daigle is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Romero gets to his feet - Daigle follows without any prompting. Daigle is looking to clinch. Romero shoots in but no luck this time. Romero looks gassed! Daigle lands with a kick to the temple. Romero shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" A punch combination from Daigle misses. Daigle goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. Daigle throws a leg kick which misses Romero's front leg but catches the back leg as Romero tries to avoid it. Daigle darts in and clinches Romero up against the cage. Romero can't get the takedown.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Daigle is pressed up against the cage. Romero has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Daigle down to the mat. Daigle avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Josh Daigle has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ranger Romero. Daigle scores with a hook. Daigle works over Romero's head and body with a nice combination. Daigle moves into range and connects with a jab. Romero slips a jab and a cross from Daigle.
Romero avoids a punch combination nicely.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Romero. Romero avoids the head kick by Daigle.
Daigle throws a sloppy head kick and Romero moves out of range easily. Romero has closed the distance and engaged Daigle in a clinch.
Romero goes for a takedown attempt but Daigle pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Daigle darts in trying to clinch and Romero counters with a single leg into guard. Daigle didn't expect that.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Daigle keeping full guard, as Romero tries to pass. Romero gets to his feet - Daigle follows without any prompting. Daigle shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Daigle moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Daigle misses with a right hand and Romero counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Romero. Romero goes for a takedown attempt but Daigle pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Daigle lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Romero backs up against the cage.
Daigle throws a head kick that misses. Daigle lands an overhand right. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Ranger Romero will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Romero slips a jab from Daigle. Daigle with a poor takedown and Romero counters with a takedown into side control. Daigle taking punishment in the form of punches.
Romero decides to stand up, so the ref orders Daigle to his feet. Romero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Daigle is fending him off so far but Romero persists. Nope, Daigle circles away and we're back to standing. A punch combination from Daigle misses. Daigle keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Daigle looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Romero gets back to full guard.
Romero had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Daigle is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Romero Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Daigle's back instead. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Romero is not going to allow Daigle to sit and survive in this position. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here? Romero wants to control but Daigle is keeping busy. Daigle covers up after that shot from Romero.
Romero scores with punches to the body. Romero is punishing Daigle with strikes - can he finish him?! Daigle is taking damage to the body and head. A lull in the action here.
Romero working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Daigle is doing well to defend. Romero seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Daigle is forced to tap and this one is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Ranger Romero! Ranger Romero is the new welterweight champion!
