PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jae Lee (ranked 24882 p4p, 5899 weight class) and Meto McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). McGregor has chosen hücum marşı as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor misses with the combination.

McGregor moves into the clinch.
McGregor is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Lee pulls him back up using the underhooks.

No joy there for Lee, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Lee stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Lee wants it to stay on the feet.

McGregor got a little sloppy there for a moment and Lee has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McGregor has managed to get both his arms back between Lee's legs - danger averted.

Lee tries to score a power double leg takedown but McGregor sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lee somewhat.

McGregor moves into range and clinches up with Lee.
McGregor lands an elbow inside.

McGregor escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lee fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with McGregor, pushing him back against the cage.

Lee really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
McGregor wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
McGregor postures up in Lee's guard and throws a big left but Lee blocks it.

Lee wriggles free and stands up.
Lee closes the distance and clinches up with McGregor, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes McGregor against the cage but McGregor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

McGregor dives in and grabs Lee's left leg, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes down on McGregor's head and hops out.

And McGregor tries to counter it with a takedown but Lee pushes his down on his head and steps out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McGregor manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Lee keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

McGregor avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
McGregor shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lee closes the distance and clinches up with McGregor, looking for a takedown. Lee pushes McGregor against the cage but McGregor circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

McGregor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McGregor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lee works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lee stops McGregor from getting back to his feet.
Lee content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

McGregor kicks Lee off and gets back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
McGregor will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Meto McGregor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well McGregor has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
