Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Allen (ranked 2949 p4p, 2820 weight class) and Jon Miocic (ranked 376 p4p, 355 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Allen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jon Miocic! The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Skip Squint and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miocic avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Miocic is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Miocic uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Allen. Allen really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Allen takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
It looks like Jon Miocic has been cut. Allen definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Miocic is looking to slow Allen down with leg kicks. Miocic digs a good body shot into Allen's ribs. Allen looks to land a right hand but Miocic moved out of range. Allen misses with a hook
and Miocic counters with a nice double leg into side control. Allen won't be happy with that. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Miocic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Miocic controlling from side mount. An elbow from Miocic crashes against the mat.
Allen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Allen tries to get out of the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miocic tries to advance to mount but can't. Miocic misses with the ground and pound. Miocic trying to control the position but Allen is working away. Miocic controls the position. It looks like Miocic might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it. Miocic working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. You can see the frustration on Allen's face as Miocic controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Allen is working to avoid the ground and pound but Miocic connects with a decent elbow. Allen is trying to improve his position. Miocic wants to lay and pray for a moment but Allen keeps working. Allen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Miocic on the ground. Miocic passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Allen! Miocic thowing shots but they're missing. Miocic wants to finish this one by submission but Allen is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Miocic.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Miocic goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Allen turns into him and now he's in Miocic's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Miocic is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Allen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Miocic has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Allen has managed to get both his arms back between Miocic's legs - danger averted. Allen trying to control the position from guard on top but Miocic is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Allen won't allow Miocic to sweep him here. Miocic is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Allen defends well. Miocic is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Miocic thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Allen is trying to get back to full guard. Miocic trying to control from half guard but Allen is working away. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Jon Miocic dominated that round. The cut man is working on Jon Miocic's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Allen lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Miocic with a nice calf kick. Miocic comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Miocic dives in and scores a takedown into Allen's guard. Miocic with a flurry of punches that miss. Miocic is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Miocic missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Miocic lands a couple of decent looking shots. Miocic is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Miocic controls from within his opponent's guard. Miocic tries to free his leg and advance position but Allen is retaining full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Miocic is in close to Allen's body, working some short punches and elbows. Miocic keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Allen's head. Miocic drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miocic jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Miocic throwing strikes from guard but Allen blocks nicely. Allen keeping moving, preventing Miocic from controlling successfully. Miocic is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Miocic is working Allen over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Miocic throws a big elbow that misses. Miocic trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Miocic slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Miocic is continuing to stall.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Allen throws a lazy uppercut
and Miocic counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Allen misses with a left hand and Miocic counters by clinching up. Allen has had enough of the clinch but Miocic keeps him there for the moment. Miocic prevents Allen from breaking the clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Allen gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Miocic.
Miocic jumps guard but Allen stands there with Miocic around his waist. Miocic gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Allen is defending well against a takedown attempt. Jimmy Allen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Miocic. Miocic tries to pull guard but Allen holds him up against the cage and eventually Miocic drops back down to his feet.

Miocic escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Allen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Allen is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Miocic has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Allen is looking to defend but Miocic has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Allen! Miocic pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Allen taps out and this one is all over!
