Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Danny Rivera (ranked 3346 p4p, 3219 weight class) and Keishin Smith (ranked 340 p4p, 327 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Danny Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Keishin Smith!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivera throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Rivera blocks a head kick by Smith.
Keishin Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Rivera shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Smith napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Smith is letting Rivera control him for a moment.
Smith wants to get back to his feet.
The referee asks Rivera politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Rivera prefers to stall for the moment though.
Rivera prevents Smith from escaping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rivera remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a close second round but I would say that Danny Rivera will probably get the nod.

Smith circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Rivera drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Smith follows Rivera to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
