And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Liddell!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liddell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Donalds circles away.
Liddell misses with a two punch combination.
Donalds tries to clinch there but Liddell circles away.
Donalds looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Liddell is fending him off so far but Donalds persists. Nope, Liddell circles away and we're back to standing.

Liddell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Donalds wants to control but Liddell is keeping busy.

Donalds looking for submissions off his back.
Liddell is looking to advance position but Donalds won't allow it.
Liddell wants to get back to his feet.

Donalds is trying to control but can't.
Donalds avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Liddell.
Still in half guard, Liddell seems content to control.
Donalds keeping control of the position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Liddell shoots and misses

and Donalds counters by clinching up.
Liddell scores with a shoulder strike.
Liddell has Donalds pushed against the cage.
Liddell lands a body shot in the clinch.
Liddell tries for a takedown but Donalds manages to get underhooks.
Mac Donalds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Liddell.

Donalds manages to break the clinch.
Donalds could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Liddell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Donalds throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Liddell counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Donalds gets full guard.

Liddell wanted to stand there but Donalds had control of the position.
Donalds is breathing heavily.
Liddell tries to free his leg and advance position but Donalds is retaining full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Liddell would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Donalds not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Liddell seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Donalds tries for a takedown but Liddell sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Liddell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Liddell shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Liddell was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Donalds in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Liddell working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Donalds looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Liddell! Submission of the night perhaps?
