Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ross Kay (ranked 2803 p4p, 4446 weight class) and Shunji Nishida (ranked 320 p4p, 459 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ross Kay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shunji Nishida! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kay with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Nishida to score with a decent uppercut. Kay looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nishida! Kay working the ground and pound from side control. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground! Nishida takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Kay is looking to take a break and control but Nishida is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Nishida taking a bit of punishment here - Kay scoring with strikes. Kay lands a nice forearm strike. We've been hearing good reports from Kay's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Kay thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Nishida takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nishida is looking to reverse the position. Kay scores with punches from side control. Kay tries to advance to mount but Nishida denies him. Kay is working Nishida over with some ground and pound from side control. Kay is chipping away with strikes.
Nishida is trying to get back to half guard. Kay is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Nishida knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kay working the head and body with strikes. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Nishida is looking for a sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kay lands a strong strike to the head of Nishida. That's dazed him! Kay looking to finish here. Nishida is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Kay lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
