Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lloyd Blue (ranked 778 p4p, 1330 weight class) and David Goldberg (ranked 93 p4p, 161 weight class). Blue comes to the cage accompanied by HonestKey- When I Wake Up. Lloyd Blue has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Lloyd Blue! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 11 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, David Goldberg! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Yves DeLean and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Blue lands with an overhand left. Blue displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Goldberg. Goldberg bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Goldberg tries to move into full mount but can't pass Blue's legs. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goldberg working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Blue is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Goldberg's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Goldberg throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blue wants to control but Goldberg is keeping busy and won't allow it. The fighters are battling for position here. Blue manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Goldberg not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Goldberg wants to control from the top but Blue keeps moving. Blue seems keen to control Goldberg's posture. Blue utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Goldberg trying to control but Blue is working from the bottom. Goldberg loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Goldberg in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Goldberg trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Goldberg. Blue tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Goldberg manages to circle out of the way. Goldberg throws the left hand but Blue avoids the punch easily. Goldberg throws a poor cross that misses
and Blue cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Goldberg looks to throw the jab but Blue is out of range. It looked like Blue wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit. Goldberg swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Blue is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Goldberg. Blue connects with a leg kick. Goldberg shoots in for a takedown but Blue shows good takedown defense. Lloyd Blue has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Goldberg. Goldberg gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Goldberg staying out of range there.

and Goldberg counters with a shoot takedown. Blue fights it but they end up in guard. Blue is pulling down on Goldberg's head. It's preventing any offense from Goldberg, at least for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goldberg wants to control from the top but Blue keeps moving. Goldberg has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Goldberg throws a strike but Blue rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Blue is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Blue stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldberg swivels though and keeps the full guard. Blue slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Blue continues to stall. Goldberg wants to sweep but no luck.
That's five minutes gone in the round. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Blue stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goldberg swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Goldberg is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Blue's half guard. Blue is holding on to half guard well. Blue is looking to control Goldberg's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blue avoid being mounted?
That's six minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Goldberg there. Blue gets back to full guard.
Goldberg throws an elbow that misses. Blue uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Goldberg's guard. Nice move by Blue! Blue looking to sit in guard and control but Goldberg gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Goldberg is working Blue over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Blue definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Goldberg throwing strikes but missing. That's eight minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Goldberg wants to control from the top but Blue keeps moving. Goldberg postures up.
Blue is really struggling to control Goldberg but he's trying to hold on to the position. Blue is pulling down on Goldberg's head. It's preventing any offense from Goldberg, at least for the moment.

Goldberg goes for a double leg but Blue avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Blue continues to drive forward. Goldberg slips a straight right by Blue. Goldberg shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Blue sprawls well. Blue wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Goldberg gets slowly back to his feet. Goldberg fails with the takedown. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Goldberg misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. And that is the end of the round. Blue is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Goldberg. Blue throws a series of punches but Goldberg moves out of range. A looping hook to the body misses from Blue. Goldberg does a little dance to reset his feet. Goldberg drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Blue defends it well. The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Blue takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life. Goldberg's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button! Blue fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Blue pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage. Blue blocks a body shot from Goldberg.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blue lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Goldberg tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Blue's elbow. Goldberg managing to block the knees to the body from Blue.

With the fighters up against the cage, Blue throws an elbow but misses. A nice right hand lands inside from Blue. Goldberg softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Goldberg shoots in and drives through. Blue sprawls well. A cross from Blue lands. Blue jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Blue throws a jab when Goldberg was well out of range. Goldberg tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Goldberg fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Blue manages to avoid it. A head kick by Blue misses and Goldberg counters with a single leg into guard. Blue didn't expect that. Blue wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Goldberg is now in half guard. Goldberg throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
That's five minutes gone in the round. Goldberg is thwarting Blue's attempts to control the position. Goldberg perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Goldberg is looking to advance position but Blue won't allow it. Goldberg wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blue keeps working. Blue controlling the position for now. Goldberg trying to control from half guard but Blue is working away.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Blue is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Goldberg can do to turn this around? Goldberg misses with a looping left. He'll look to pass Blue's guard now, I'm sure. David Goldberg has got the better of the ground game so far. Blue keeping moving, preventing Goldberg from controlling successfully. Blue is controlling Goldberg's posture. Blue not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Blue is adopting a defensive guard. Goldberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Blue swivels though and keeps the full guard. Goldberg missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Goldberg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Blue is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Goldberg keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Blue. Blue looks to score with a jab to the body but Goldberg is just out of range.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Blue fails with an attempt to clinch.
Goldberg chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Blue can pounce on him.

Goldberg scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Blue has one foot on Goldberg's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Blue keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

He catches Blue napping and manages to drive through into side control! Blue sneaks out the side door and pushes Goldberg away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape. Blue lands a glancing blow to the side of Goldberg's head. A combination from Blue does no damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Goldberg darts in looking for a takedown but Blue gets double underhooks and turns Goldberg into the cage. Blue throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A good leg kick by Blue. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Goldberg throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Goldberg is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. David Goldberg has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's eight minutes gone in the round. Blue gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Goldberg shoots in but no luck this time. Goldberg checks a low kick from Blue. Blue is looking to clinch. Goldberg blocks a low kick nicely. Goldberg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Goldberg lands in his opponent's guard. Blue is pulling down on Goldberg's head. It's preventing any offense from Goldberg, at least for the moment.
