Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jake Wooden (ranked 5436 p4p, 25345 weight class) and Kam Kush (ranked 503 p4p, 574 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Wooden! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kam Kush! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wooden looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Wooden not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Wooden works his foot free and advances to mount. Wooden looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Wooden looking to ground and pound but Kush is blocking nicely. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Wooden throws some wild stikes that Kush manages to avoid easily.
Wooden could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Wooden throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Wooden has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. Wooden tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Wooden controlling from mount. Wooden's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Kush tries to lock up and control but Wooden gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Wooden controlling from the full mount. Wooden has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Wooden steps back and let's Kush get back to his feet. Donk. Wooden catches Kush right on the button with a cross. Kush shoots for a takedown but Wooden saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Wooden drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kush sprawls and moves away.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooden shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Kush tries to kick Wooden off in order to stand up. Wooden Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Kush is looking for a sweep. Sloppy strikes there by Wooden. Wooden taking a breather here. Wooden working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Kush really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wooden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Wooden decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kush to his feet. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Kush dives in for a single leg takedown but Wooden sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Kam Kush seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kush shoots in for a takedown but Wooden shows good takedown defense. Wooden is looking for a counter combo. Wooden throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd. Wooden throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kush was covering up waiting for the punch and Wooden finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kush is wriggling around but Wooden manages to pass to half guard.
Wooden is taking a breather. Kush says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kush is looking to control Wooden's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kush avoid being mounted? Wooden thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
That's one minute gone in the round. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Wooden in particular looking to stall. Wooden is looking for a kimura here.
Wooden has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wooden is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kush can do to turn this around? Wooden decides to stand and escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Kush tries for a takedown but Wooden circles away easily and Wooden counters with a three punch combo that has Kush backing up. Kush nods at Wooden to acknowledge the strikes. Jake Wooden has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Kam Kush. Wooden bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Kush is looking to get back to his feet here but Wooden is keeping cool and he's managed to take Kush's back. Kush is breathing heavily. Kush is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kush defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Wooden's arms. Wooden looking for the RNC. Wooden is riding his opponent, not letting Kush buck him off. Wooden is persistently looking for the submission but Kush is defending it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooden misses with punches from the back. Wooden is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Kush defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. Good control from Wooden. Kush trying to control the hands but Wooden won't let him. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Wooden looking for the RNC. Kush covering up well under a series of strikes from Wooden. Wooden working for the choke. Kush is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Wooden.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kush preventing the rear naked choke attempt from Wooden.
And that's the end of the fight! Jake Wooden showed his dominance in that final round. Well Wooden has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
