Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Benny Darius (ranked 2493 p4p, 1505 weight class) and Lian Belmiro (ranked 273 p4p, 168 weight class). Darius comes into the arena with In the Shadows - The Rasmus blaring out of the sound system. Lian Belmiro has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Darius.
Belmiro throws an off balance right hand
and Darius cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Belmiro shoots in for a takedown but Darius shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Belmiro displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Darius throws out the jab.

Darius rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Belmiro moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Belmiro stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Darius misses with a hook. Belmiro ducked under it nicely.
A looping hook to the body misses from Belmiro. Darius does a little dance to reset his feet.

Nice uppercut lands for Belmiro. That snapped Darius's head back.

Darius walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Belmiro checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Darius counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
