Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sauv Ignon (ranked 1537 p4p, 1720 weight class) and Gurney Halleck (ranked 208 p4p, 233 weight class). Sauv Ignon is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sauv Ignon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gurney Halleck!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halleck ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Ignon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ignon thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Halleck bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ignon's guard.

Halleck passes Ignon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ignon wants to get back to full guard.

Halleck trying to mount his opponent but Ignon defends it.

Halleck tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Halleck has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

We've been hearing good reports from Ignon's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ignon closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Ignon has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Halleck to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Ignon is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Halleck pulls down on the head and he's put Ignon to sleep! This one is all over!
