Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Matt Frevola (ranked 3788 p4p, 3978 weight class) and Osamu Matsuda (ranked 295 p4p, 305 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Frevola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Osamu Matsuda!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Lou da Vinci and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuda misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frevola.
Frevola tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Matsuda manages to circle out of the way.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Matsuda.
Matsuda shoots and misses
and Frevola counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Matsuda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Matsuda misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Frevola.
Matsuda's coach down at Gym Goroshi London was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Matsuda's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Matsuda throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Matsuda shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Frevola defends it nicely.
Frevola changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
That's one minute gone in the round.

It looks like Osamu Matsuda has been cut.
Matt Frevola has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Osamu Matsuda.

and Frevola counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Frevola.
Matsuda is still on wobbly legs! Can Frevola finish him?
Frevola lands a hook that snaps the head of Matsuda backwards.
Frevola breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A head kick by Matsuda misses
and Frevola shoots in for a double leg counter - driving through into a slam and Matsuda is out! The slam has knocked him out cold! Devastating for Matsuda but Frevola is celebrating as the crowd goes wild!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Slam). Matt Frevola!
