This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 22 losses; Filmore Everett! And in the blue corner, fighting out of St Petersburg, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 17 losses; Gunner Mason! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Everett fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Everett shoots in looking for a takedown but Mason manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Everett's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Mason closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the ropes. Everett tries to pull guard but Mason forces him back to his feet, against the ropes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Filmore Everett. That's going to take a lot out of him. Everett is trying to drag Mason to the mat but Mason just about manages to keep his footing. He used the ropes to his advantage there. Mason gets underhooks to prevent Everett's takedown attempt.
Mason has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Everett avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Possibly, maybe, no Everett has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Everett is looking to take a break and control but Mason is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mason is trying to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Everett is working to tighten his grip on Mason's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Mason has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Everett is really squeezing tight and eventually Mason passes out! Everett breaks the hold and jumps onto the ropes to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
