Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dawindi Buktot (ranked 23909 p4p, 23867 weight class) and Walay Buut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walay Buut told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 39 - 57 - 5, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dawindi Buktot! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 53 - 45 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Walay Buut! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Buktot throws a wild body kick that Buut sees coming a mile off. Buut fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Buktot slaps away a takedown attempt from Buut, before circling back to the center of the mat. Buktot thinks about countering with a body kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut stuffs the takedown attempt from Buktot. Buktot gets slowly back to his feet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut. Buktot defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Buut. Buktot scores with a takedown into Buut's guard. Buut is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Buktot with a poor takedown and Buut counters with a nice body kick. Nice takedown defense from Buut. No joy for Buktot on that attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Buktot with a lazy takedown attempt and Buut counters with a nice body shot. Buut closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Buktot to the mat! Buktot manages to get full guard. Buktot has his hands on Buut's head, controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Dawindi Buktot will probably get the nod. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Buut shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Buut was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Buktot wants to control but Buut postures up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buut taking a breather here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut is looking to take a break and control but Buktot is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Buktot tries to improve position but can't. Buktot is not content to let Buut control the position. Buut might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Buktot haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Buut staying calm.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Buktot continues to stall. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Buut is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Walay Buut showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round! Buut looks for a takedown but Buktot sprawls well. Buktot jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Buktot misses with a low kick. Buktot shoots in looking for a takedown but Buut manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Buktot's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Buktot looks for a takedown but Buut sprawls well. Buut appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Buut bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Buut moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now. Buut wants to control but Buktot is keeping him busy.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Buut taking a breather here. Buut's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Walay Buut has got the better of the ground game so far. Buut wants to control but Buktot is keeping him busy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Buktot can't do much from the bottom here.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Buut shoots in for a takedown but Buktot shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Buktot thinks about countering with a head kick. Buut shoots for a double leg takedown but Buktot sprawls well. He's pushed Buut's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Buktot is looking for a counter combo. Dawindi Buktot has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walay Buut.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Buktot shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buut as he avoids it easily. A countering left hand to the body from Buut misses. Buut scores with a takedown into Buktot's guard. Buktot keeping full guard, as Buut tries to pass. Buktot pulls Buut in close to his closed guard and prevents Buut from doing any damage or advancing position.
And that's the end of the fight! Walay Buut comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Buut has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
