Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shota Imanaga (ranked 4074 p4p, 25432 weight class) and Charles Turner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Charles Turner will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shota Imanaga! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charles Turner! The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Turner is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Turner throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Imanaga's waist but Imanaga gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Turner off to one side. Imanaga wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch. Turner looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Turner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Imanaga as he jumps to the side. Shota Imanaga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Turner. No luck for Turner with that takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Imanaga closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Turner's guard. Imanaga controlling from the top position. Turner escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Imanaga gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
That's one minute gone in the round. Turner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Imanaga defends it easily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Imanaga sitting in guard here, content to control. Imanaga tries to free his leg and advance position but Turner is retaining full guard. Imanaga has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Imanaga engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Turner tries a head kick but it misses.
Imanaga tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Turner manages to circle out of the way. Turner looks for a takedown but Imanaga sprawls well. Turner fails to land the takedown. Turner is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Imanaga closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
That's three minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here as Imanaga stalls from top position. Imanaga working away. Imanaga stands up and we're back to a striking position. Turner will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Turner tries to clinch but Imanaga is having none of it. Charles Turner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The fight stays on the outside here - Turner looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Turner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Imanaga as he avoids it easily. No luck for Turner with that takedown attempt. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Turner shoots and misses and Imanaga counters by clinching up. Imanaga manages to break the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Shota Imanaga dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Turner tries to clinch there but Imanaga circles away.
Turner connects with an inside leg kick. Turner misses with a double jab
and Imanaga counters by clinching up. Imanaga's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Imanaga could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Turner tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Imanaga paws at him with a jab and circles away. Turner is looking to clinch but Imanaga is avoiding it.

Imanaga fires out a quick counter leg kick but Turner just manages to avoid it. Turner tries for a takedown but Imanaga circles away easily and Imanaga counters by clinching up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Turner looking to slow down the pace here. Turner swings wildly with an uppercut but Imanaga uses good head movement to avoid it.

Imanaga keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. As Turner tries to get set, Imanaga tries to push him back and clinch up but Turner manages to avoid the attempt. Turner darts in looking for a takedown but Imanaga gets double underhooks and turns Turner into the cage. Shota Imanaga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Turner. Turner tries for a takedown but Imanaga circles away easily and Imanaga counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Turner being controlled against the cage. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Imanaga is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Turner gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Turner trying to control the position but instead, Imanaga has worked for underhooks and has pushed Turner into the cage. Imanaga goes for a takedown attempt but Turner pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Turner wants to clinch up but Imanaga keeps it at a distance. Imanaga takes the fight into the clinch. Imanaga is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Turner can do to turn this around? Turner blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning. Imanaga jumps guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner being controlled here momentarily. Imanaga keeping moving, preventing Turner from controlling successfully. Turner is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Imanaga keeping full guard, as Turner tries to pass.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Imanaga manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Turner tries to clinch up. Imanaga tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Turner manages to circle out of the way. Nice sprawl there from Imanaga as Turner shoots in. Imanaga closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Turner quickly recovers to half guard. Shota Imanaga overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Imanaga slows the pace down in half guard. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Turner. Imanaga seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Turner. Turner tries to clinch but Imanaga is having none of it. We've been informed that Turner has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight. Turner looks to land a body kick but Imanaga moved away. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Imanaga closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Turner's guard. Turner is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round. Turner can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Imanaga controls the pace. Turner is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Shota Imanaga is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Imanaga stands up and waves to Turner to follow him. Charles Turner has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Shota Imanaga is winning the standup battle so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Imanaga circles away from the clinch attempt.
Turner shoots for a double leg takedown but Imanaga sprawls well. He's pushed Turner's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Imanaga closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Turner is trying to control but can't.
Imanaga content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Imanaga trying to pass the guard but Turner defending well. Imanaga stands up from half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Turner tries for a takedown but Imanaga circles away easily and Imanaga holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Shota Imanaga has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charles Turner. Turner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Turner tries to close the distance and clinch up but Imanaga swats him away and circles back towards the center. Imanaga looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Turner working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Imanaga doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Imanaga manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Turner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Turner being controlled here, momentarily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Turner looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Imanaga looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Imanaga sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Turner's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Shota Imanaga showed his dominance in that final round. Well Imanaga has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
