Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Boston Mathis (ranked 24845 p4p, 24795 weight class) and Manning Moore (ranked 513 p4p, 531 weight class). Mathis comes to the cage accompanied by Dropkick Murphuys - I'm Shipping Up To Boston. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Boston Mathis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Manning Moore!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathis circles away from the clinch attempt.
Sloppy strikes from Mathis. Those never looked like landing.
Mathis throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Moore clinches up against the cage.

Mathis manages to pull guard.
Moore working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Moore trying to control but Mathis is working from the bottom.
Mathis looking to hit a scissor sweep but Moore is one step ahead there.
Moore in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Moore has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mathis is trying to keep Moore in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moore trying to control the position from guard on top but Mathis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mathis is looking to stand up but Moore isn't so interested in that idea.
Moore postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Moore working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Moore tries to free his leg and advance position but Mathis is retaining full guard.
Moore postures up in Mathis's guard and throws a big left but Mathis blocks it.
Moore prevents Mathis from getting back to his feet.
Moore stands up over Mathis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Moore trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Mathis isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Moore stacks Mathis on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Moore!
Mathis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Mathis is not content to let Moore control the position.

Moore tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Moore looks up at the clock and then as Mathis takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Moore smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Mathis definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mathis wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Mathis tries to buck Moore off but Moore is having none of it.

Mathis takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Moore lands a decent elbow from side control.
Mathis takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Mathis is trying to control Moore's posture but Moore avoids it.
Moore blocks the strikes from Mathis.
Moore working away.
Moore slows the pace down.
Moore tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Moore cracks Mathis with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Moore thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mathis avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Moore.
Moore throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mathis wants to get back to full guard but Moore has mounted him!
Mathis really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mathis is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Manning Moore dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Mathis leaves Moore with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Moore avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mathis tries to bum rush Moore with a series of wild strikes but Moore uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mathis paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Moore tries to clinch up but Mathis circles away and keeps his distance.
Mathis appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Boston Mathis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Moore has taken the fight to the clinch.
Moore fails to pull guard.
Moore is looking to take this one to the mat.
Boston Mathis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manning Moore.

Mathis has hold of one of Moore's legs. Moore is fighting the takedown attempt but Mathis gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Moore manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mathis jumps guard and drags Moore to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Moore got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mathis has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Moore has managed to get both his arms back between Mathis's legs - danger averted.

Moore stays in close to Mathis's body and controls the position.
Moore with a flurry of punches that miss.
Moore looking to sit in guard and control but Mathis gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Mathis wants to control from the top but Moore keeps moving.
Mathis has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Moore manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Moore tries for a takedown. No joy.

Moore is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Moore wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mathis keeps working.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Mathis tries to bum rush Moore with a series of wild strikes but Moore uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Mathis gets tackled into the cage by Moore. Moore maintains the clinch.
Moore has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mathis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Boston Mathis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Manning Moore.

Mathis throws a right hand that Moore ducks under and follows up with a left that Moore also avoids with ease.

Moore goes for a takedown attempt but Mathis pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Moore takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Moore shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mathis defends it nicely.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Mathis.

Mathis misses with a series of wild punches.
Moore avoids a punch combination nicely.

Moore moves into the clinch.
Moore is working for takedown but Mathis is calmly controlling the position for now.

Mathis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mathis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Mathis manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Moore manages to get himself to full guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Moore is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Mathis decides to stand up.
Mathis throws a right and a left that both miss.
The fight stays on the outside here - Moore looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mathis throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Moore.
Moore now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Moore tries to clinch there but Mathis circles away.
Moore tries to close the distance and clinch but Mathis swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Moore shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Mathis as he avoids it easily.
Mathis lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Mathis shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mathis showed some decent athleticism there.

Moore pushes Mathis off and gets back to his feet.
Boston Mathis has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Mathis clinches up against the cage.
Moore is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Mathis is defending well for now.
Moore is trying to drag Mathis to the mat but Mathis just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Moore gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Mathis.
Moore tries to score a body lock takedown but Mathis shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Manning Moore is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Mathis can't get the takedown.

Mathis has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Moore uses from the top position.
