Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Romero (ranked 4129 p4p, 4565 weight class) and Anthony Meuniex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Anthony Meuniex is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Solomon Romero! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Anthony Meuniex! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Meuniex throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena. Meuniex fakes the leg kick and cracks Romero in the body. Donk. Meuniex catches Romero right on the button with a cross. Romero throws a combination that misses and Meuniex counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Romero throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Meuniex tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Romero is in Meuniex's guard. Romero passes Meuniex's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Meuniex looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round. Romero has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Romero's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Meuniex lands with a kick to the temple. Romero shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Romero gets a takedown into half guard. Romero trying to pass the guard but Meuniex defending well. Well, if Romero is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Meuniex looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Meuniex pushes Romero off looking to stand but Romero dives back in and keeps control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Romero content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. This is a sustained period of stalling by Romero.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Meuniex fakes the leg kick and cracks Romero in the body. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Anthony Meuniex dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Meuniex lands a nice looking kick to the body. Romero takes a step back to recover. Meuniex feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Romeros jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! A decent looking body kick lands there for Meuniex. Meuniex leaves Romero with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meuniex stuffs the takedown. Solomon Romero is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Romero feints and as Meuniex raises his hands in defense, Romero changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Romero trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Further stalling from Romero. If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Romero is stinking the place up with his stalling.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Romero gets the takedown into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee asks Romero politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Romero prefers to stall for the moment though. Meuniex wants to get back to his feet but Romero drags him back down. Romero is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Meuniex slips a jab and a cross from Romero.
Meuniex throws out a counter right but Romero avoids it with no problem. Meuniex scores with the left hand. Romero knows he should have avoided that one. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Meuniex scores with a spinning back kick! Meuniex throws a sloppy head kick and Romero moves out of range easily. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Anthony Meuniex will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round! Romero looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Meuniex lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. A right-left combo lands from Romero. Romero shoots and misses and Meuniex counters with a body kick. Romero gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Solomon Romero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Meuniex connects with a right hand. Romero shakes it off. Anthony Meuniex seems to be getting the better of the standup. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Meuniex lands with an overhand left. Romero with a lazy takedown attempt and Meuniex makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Romero misses with a hook
enabling Meuniex to counter with a crisp jab. Romero will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Romero is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Romero is rocked! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Solomon Romero. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Meuniex wants to get up but he can't break Romero's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Oh Romero is still in real trouble! That's two minutes gone in the round. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Meuniex prevents Romero from getting back to his feet.

Meuniex moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Meuniex avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Romero shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Meuniex as he jumps to the side. Meuniex lands with a slapping head kick.
It looks like Solomon Romero has been cut. Meuniex lands with a big left! Romero is wobbled badly! Meuniex comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Romero to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.
