Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Dukes (ranked 1862 p4p, 2552 weight class) and Chad Hunter (ranked 241 p4p, 294 weight class). Dukes kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is I saw the Light. Johnny Dukes has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Johnny Dukes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Hunter! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dukes takes one on the button. Hunter avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Hunter uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dukes has time to react. We've been told by Dukes's head coaches at Kaptajnernes Træningscenter that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Hunter takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hunter has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Hunter throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Dukes on the side of the head. Dukes looks to throw a body kick and Hunter counters with a leg kick then a big left hand that sends Dukes down! Hunter is looking to finish but Dukes is intelligently defending himself.
Dukes is rocked! Hunter sitting in guard, not really doing much. Hunter working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hunter distracts Dukes with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Oh Dukes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Hunter has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Hunter lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. Hunter throws a big right hand that misses. Hunter loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hunter working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter prevents Dukes from getting back to his feet. Hunter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Hunter postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Hunter throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dukes works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Hunter missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hunter postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Dukes covers up, he's hurt! Hunter keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Hunter and the ref steps in to end the fight! Hunter can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chad Hunter! Chad Hunter was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed. The defeated Johnny Dukes had this to say: 'I want a rematch. I deserve that.'.
