Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Derrick Smith (ranked 25227 p4p, 2327 weight class) and Aoatea Nuku (ranked 593 p4p, 290 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Derrick Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aoatea Nuku!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nuku paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Smith tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Nuku counters with a nice leg kick.
We've been told by Smith's head coaches at The Firm that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Nuku is looking to chop away at Smith's legs.
Smith fires out a quick counter leg kick but Nuku just manages to avoid it.
Smith throws a push kick but Nuku slaps the foot to one side.
Smith on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Nuku. Nuku obviously looking to wear him down.
Smith misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Derrick Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nuku but Nuku pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Smith takes one on the chin but seems OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nuku with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nuku connects with a crisp jab.
Nuku with the inside leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round.

Smith is breathing heavily.
Nuku slaps away a takedown attempt from Smith, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Derrick Smith. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Nuku throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Smith stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Nuku drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Nuku waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Nuku has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Smith closes the distance looking to clinch
and Nuku counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Aoatea Nuku is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Nuku drops Smith with a beautiful combination! Smith stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Nuku is looking for the KO!
Smith is rocked!
Nuku throws a leg kick which misses Smith's front leg but catches the back leg as Smith tries to avoid it.
Oh Smith is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Nuku moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Smith seems to have got his legs back now.
Smith takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
BOOM! Nuku lands a beautiful left hook that drops Smith. Smith tries to recover but Nuku is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Smith lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Aoatea Nuku!
A very excited looking Aoatea Nuku made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
