Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Finley Costa (ranked 2663 p4p, 2467 weight class) and Broken Bones Jones (ranked 327 p4p, 309 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones thows a left - swing and a miss!
Costa throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Broken Bones Jones has been cut.
Costa tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Costa.
Jones ducks under a wild hook from Costa.
Costa avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Jones tries to clinch but Costa moves out of range.
Costa connects with a looping right hand.
Jones goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Jones needs to keep his hands up - Costa had a free shot at his head there.

Jones bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jones fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Costa sprawls well initially but Jones persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Jones has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Costa avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Costa seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jones is trying to control the position but Costa postures up.
Jones has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Costa is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jones.
Costa is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Jones has escaped the position, nice work there.
Costa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Jones tries to buck Costa off but Costa is having none of it.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Costa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Costa is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Jones will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Costa is putting a hurting on Jones here, landing some big shots from side control.
The strikes coming from Costa are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Jones parries the strikes from Costa easily there. Costa is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Jones to escape.
Costa is trying to get an arm triangle but Jones is defending well.
Costa remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Costa throws the left hand but Jones avoids the punch easily.
Costa definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Costa throws a low kick, looking for Jones's leg but Jones calmly moves out of range.
Jones gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Costa prevents it.
Costa is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?
Costa wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Finley Costa is winning the standup battle so far.
Costa sizes up Jones with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Costa lands a big uppercut and Jones crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Jones looks OK. Costa waves Jones back to his feet!
Jones is rocked!
Jones looks up at the clock. Bad move! Costa lands a right hand from hell, dropping Jones. Costa pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Finley Costa!
Finley Costa was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
