PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Mendes (ranked 564 p4p, 606 weight class) and Olivier Dujardin (ranked 75 p4p, 83 weight class). Mendes comes to the cage accompanied by Future - Last Breath. Dujardin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Sosa by Leto & Guy2bezbar. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Paulo Mendes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Olivier Dujardin!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Chad Campbell and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendes closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dujardin did well to prevent Mendes getting side control.

It looks like Paulo Mendes has been cut.
Mendes's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Dujardin connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mendes scrambles back to his feet.

Dujardin takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Mendes decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Mendes jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dujardin walks away with a smile on his face. Mendes gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dujardin fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Paulo Mendes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Dujardin connects with a body shot.
Dujardin cracks Mendes with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Dujardin might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Mendes shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dujardin as he jumps to the side.
Dujardin works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Dujardin jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Mendes throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dujardin's waist but Dujardin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Mendes off to one side.
Dujardin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Mendes looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Mendes moves forwards but Dujardin connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dujardin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Dujardin drops Mendes with a huge uppercut! Mendes drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Dujardin is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

A very excited looking Olivier Dujardin made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
