Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Simon Maynard (ranked 3865 p4p, 3226 weight class) and Walter Vargas (ranked 412 p4p, 354 weight class). Vargas has chosen Long Runs the Fox as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Simon Maynard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Walter Vargas!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard slips under a jab from Vargas.
Maynard definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Vargas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Maynard counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Vargas shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Maynard defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Maynard throws a head kick but Vargas moves out of range.
Good shot there by Vargas.
Vargas shoots in for a takedown but Maynard shows good takedown defense.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Maynard takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Vargas throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Maynard on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Vargas throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Maynard sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Vargas punishes Maynard's body with a nice straight punch.
Maynard misses with a hook
and Vargas counters with a right hand to the body.
Maynard walks into a jab.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vargas tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maynard was well out of range. Poor timing from Vargas.
Maynard uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vargas.
Maynard lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Maynard moves out of range of the strikes.
Vargas just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromMaynard.
Maynard tries to move into range but Vargas moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Maynard tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vargas misses with an uppercut
and Maynard counters with a nice body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vargas throws a right and a left that Maynard avoids nicely.
Maynard is looking to counter with head kicks.

Vargas misses with a body punch
and Maynard counters with a stiff right hand.
Vargas throws a poor cross that misses
and Maynard counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Vargas swings away with a body shot that misses
and Maynard counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vargas stuns Maynard with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Maynard takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Vargas throws a right hand that Maynard ducks under and follows up with a left that Maynard also avoids with ease.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vargas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Maynard's waist but Maynard gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vargas off to one side.
It looked like Maynard was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Vargas.
Simon Maynard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Vargas.
Vargas misses with a hook. Maynard ducked under it nicely.
Vargas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Maynard counters with a crisp right that sends Vargas to the canvas! Maynard follows up with punches from the mount and this one is all over!
