This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 58 wins and 65 losses; Strega Notturna! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 65 wins and 43 losses; Vasiliy Kulik!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.
The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Notturna tries to lock up and control but Kulik gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Kulik takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Kulik content to control rather than advance.
Notturna is looking to control Kulik's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Notturna avoid being mounted?

Notturna slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Notturna stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kulik swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Notturna is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Kulik is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like Kulik might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

You can see the frustration on Notturna's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
