Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Burg Gers (ranked 3137 p4p, 3429 weight class) and Marcus Landor (ranked 327 p4p, 350 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Burg Gers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marcus Landor! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Winston Alpacca and Bart Greer.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Gers lands with a thumping leg kick.
Gers fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Landor checks it well. Landor walks forward, straight into a front kick from Gers. Gers looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Gers lands a couple of digs. Gers pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Landor is keeping the position for now. Gers prevents Landor from getting back to his feet. Gers distracts Landor with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Gers working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Landor's head. Gers wants to pass the guard but Landor is keeping the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gers avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

That's one minute gone in the round. Gers slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Gers has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. Gers looking to pass the guard. Gers postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Gers preventing the sweep. Gers is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Landor looking for subs off his back but Gers has passed one foot through into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Gers seems content to control. Gers has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Nice strikes from Gers there. Gers working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Gers in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Landor tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gers!
