Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Georges StPierra (ranked 4199 p4p, 4098 weight class) and Mike McGuire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Georges StPierra! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike McGuire! The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, David Schapiro and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! StPierra clinches with his opponent.
StPierra is trying to drag McGuire to the mat but McGuire just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. McGuire can't find room to land a body shot as StPierra controls the action.
StPierra is trying to pull guard but McGuire turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch. StPierra is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but McGuire is defending well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Georges StPierra. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGuire goes for a takedown in the clinch but StPierra prevents it.
McGuire has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but StPierra regains guard immediately. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McGuire won't allow StPierra to sweep him here. StPierra keeping moving, preventing McGuire from controlling successfully. McGuire slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. StPierra keeping moving, preventing McGuire from controlling successfully. McGuire postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. McGuire is looking to work some ground and pound but StPierra has wrist control. StPierra is trying to keep McGuire in close.
McGuire drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and StPierra dives on top into guard.
StPierra has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. McGuire keeping moving, preventing StPierra from controlling successfully.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. McGuire has his foot on StPierra's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. StPierra works his way back into a safe position though. StPierra controls from within his opponent's guard. McGuire pushes a forearm under StPierra's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, StPierra is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
