Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Darnell Majesty!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Watson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Steve Smith and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Majesty tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Watson was well out of range. Poor timing from Majesty.
Majesty seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Watson throws a hook but Majesty blocks it.
Watson slips a straight right by Majesty.
Majesty misses with an uppercut
and Watson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Darnell Majesty has been cut.
Majesty throws a jab when Watson was well out of range.
Watson is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Majesty with a body shot.
Majesty lands an overhand right.

Watson jabs Majesty to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Majesty connects with a good right hand that stumbles Watson. Watson circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Watson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Majesty.
Watson now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Majesty throws a shot from downtown. Watson moves away and avoids it.
A jab from Majesty finds it's way through Watson's defenses.
Watson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Watson misses with a wild body shot.
Watson throws out a loose jab but Majesty uses good head movement to avoid it.
Majesty fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Majesty getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Majesty throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Watson's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Majesty dives in looking to finish as Watson flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Majesty's strikes! Majesty is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Watson's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Watson was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darnell Majesty!
In his post fight interview, Darnell Majesty started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
