And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tai Kong!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A solid leg kick lands there for Rivera.
Kong uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Rivera.
We've been told by Rivera's head coaches at Cherokees Island Elite Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Rivera looks to land a left hand but Kong moved out of range nicely.
Kong misses with a head kick.
Rivera drops down looking for a counter takedown but Kong sprawls and moves away.
Kong lands a high kick!
Kong tries to clinch but Rivera moves out of range.
A quick step to the side and Rivera tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice body punch from Rivera.
Rivera fails to land the takedown.
Kong is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
Kong gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Rivera looks to land a left hand but Kong moved out of range nicely.
Rivera connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Kong! He's out on his feet! Rivera rushes in and drops Kong with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Danny Rivera!
Danny Rivera bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
