The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Nelson is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Kersikov's half guard. Kersikov is not content to let Nelson control the position. Nelson is figuring out what he wants to do next. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nelson is looking to advance position but Kersikov won't allow it.

It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kersikov defends it well. Nelson is working for a kimura but Kersikov is defending it quite comfortably.

Kersikov is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at KFA, so we'll see if he gets out of it. Kersikov just trying to survive but Nelson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish. Nelson looking for the RNC. Kersikov looking very determined here, making life difficult for Nelson.

Kersikov slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Kersikov won't allow Nelson to sweep him here.

Kersikov seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
