This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the super heavyweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 69 wins and 67 losses; Long Wang! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Wang shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Wang shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kulik is trying to defend but Wang finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Kulik has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage. A lull in the action here. It looks like Wang might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Wang content just to control the position here. Kulik is in all sorts of trouble here.

Wang slows the pace down in half guard. Kulik really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Wang tries to pass to full mount but Kulik defends it. Wang controlling the action here.

We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Wang. Well,Kulik is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes? Kulik wants to get back to full guard. Wang tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kulik knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Wang keeps trying to improve his position.
That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Wang is looking to take a break and control but Kulik is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Kulik trying to hold on to Wang's head to control him but Wang postures up.

And that's the end of the fight! Wang wins on points by 10 to 0. A relieved looking Long Wang thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it. |
