The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Reaper moves into the clinch successfully.
Reaper tries to score a body lock takedown but Kutvonen shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Reaper stops a takedown attempt from Kutvonen.

Reaper wants to pass the guard but Kutvonen is keeping the position. Reaper is stalling in the full guard. We've been hearing good reports from Kutvonen's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Kutvonen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kutvonen is fighting to break Reaper's control of his arms but Reaper is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Reaper wants to hold on but Kutvonen pushes him away. Reaper is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kutvonen is staying active. Kutvonen controlling from mount.
That's ten minutes gone in the round. Reaper prevents any damage by holding on tight. Reaper tries to hold on but Kutvonen postures up. Kutvonen content just to control the position here. Kutvonen looking to control but Reaper is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
That's eleven minutes gone in the round. Kutvonen controlling his opponent. Reaper regains half guard. Well, if Kutvonen is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's thirteen minutes gone in the round. Reaper keeps control of the position for the meantime. Reaper slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Kutvonen trying to control the position from guard on top but Reaper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kutvonen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

And that's the end of the fight! Kutvonen takes the fight on points by 10 to 2. A very excited looking Lusmu Kutvonen rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed. |
