Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark McFist! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pulla Pesonen! The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Roosa Järviläinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pesonen closes the distance and clinches. McFist has Pesonen pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. McFist pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pesonen tumbling to the mat - McFist dives into Pesonen's guard. Pesonen keeping moving, preventing McFist from controlling successfully. McFist drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and McFist jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Pesonen looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
McFist drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pesonen dives on top into guard. Pesonen is fighting to break McFist's control of his arms but McFist is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. McFist looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pesonen is one step ahead there. McFist had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Pesonen is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. McFist Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Pesonen's back instead.

McFist is breathing heavily. McFist looking for the RNC. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Pesonen looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands. McFist is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Pesonen defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. McFist looking for the choke from the back. McFist avoiding Pesonen 's attempts to control his hands. McFist is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Pesonen knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Pesonen for a finish. Pesonen is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if McFist gets his way!

Pesonen tries to get back to half guard but can't. McFist goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Pesonen is on top in guard.

Nice sprawl there from Pesonen as McFist shoots in. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Pesonen lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but McFist circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. McFist shoots in for a double leg but Pesonen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Pesonen misses with a two punch combination.
McFist shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. McFist showed some decent athleticism there. Pesonen is looking to escape.

McFist is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Pesonen sees it coming and defends easily. Pesonen gets full guard. McFist has gone for a leg lock! Pesonen slips out almost immediately though and dives into McFist's guard. Pesonen avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
McFist is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

McFist is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Pesonen pulls his head out easily. McFist wants to control but Pesonen is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. McFist tries to get to full guard but Pesonen has control of the leg. Pesonen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
McFist actively working from the bottom here. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! McFist looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

McFist is looking for a kimura but Pesonen is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for McFist to get the leverage. McFistis looking to pass into half guard but Pesonen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Pesonen is in guard. McFist escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pesonen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. McFist has an active guard here but Pesonen has managed to pass into half guard.
McFist looking for submissions off his back. McFist has a hand on Pesonen's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Pesonen takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
