And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 1 losses; FanDan Django! The judges for this bout are William Peck, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Nice takedown defense from Prochazka. No joy for Django on that attempt. Prochazka changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Prochazka scores with a takedown into Django's guard. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Prochazka (2) vs (0) Django Prochazka is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Prochazka pushes down on Django's leg and manages to get into half guard. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Django can do anything to dispel that myth. Prochazka is working for a submission of some sort.
Django is not content to let Prochazka control the position. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Prochazka wants to work for an arm triangle but Django is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Prochazka is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Django doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Prochazka. Prochazka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Django is just riding it out for now. Prochazka eventually gives up the hold. Prochazka takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Django is trying to get back to full guard. Prochazka tries to pass the half guard into mount. Django knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
