The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.
Ngannou clinches with his opponent.
Amida has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Ngannou regains guard immediately. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Ngannou (0) vs (2) Amida
Ngannou has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Amida can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Ngannou is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Amida wants to control but Ngannou is having none of it.
Ngannou looking to isolate an arm here. Amida doesn't see it coming and as Ngannou extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Ngannou!
