Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Danny Hall!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Montegriffo!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Paul Gruel and Ryoma Takatsuka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hall ducks right into an uppercut from Montegriffo.
Hall stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Montegriffo.
Montegriffo looks to throw the jab but Hall is out of range.
Hall throwing a counter right hand but Montegriffo manages to avoid it.
Montegriffo jabs at Hall's body.
Montegriffo's coach down at Tycoon Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Montegriffo's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Montegriffo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hall.
As Montegriffo looks to move away, Hall throws a big counter combo but Montegriffo just gets out of the way.
Montegriffo throws a poor cross that misses
and Hall counters with a nice right hand that sends Montegriffo toppling to the canvas! Montegriffo scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Hall finish him?!
Montegriffo is rocked!
It looks like Alexander Montegriffo has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hall lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Montegriffo up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Hall from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Montegriffo's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Danny Hall!
