Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Vasya Gorshkov (ranked 5923 p4p, 24584 weight class) and Alfonzo Bondzie (ranked 530 p4p, 535 weight class). Gorshkov comes to the cage accompanied by Thé à la Menthe - La Caution. Alfonzo Bondzie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Chad Campbell and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gorshkov drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Gorshkov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Gorshkov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bondzie works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bondzie controls Gorshkov momentarily but Gorshkov frees himself.
Bondzie wants to sweep here but Gorshkov controlling him for the moment.
Gorshkov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Bondzie is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Gorshkov, into his guard.
Bondzie wants to get up but he can't break Gorshkov's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Gorshkov has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Bondzie has Gorshkov pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Gorshkov is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Bondzie - that's hurt Gorshkov badly! Oh, another knee lands and Gorshkov is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Gorshkov doesn't seem to be complaining.
