PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Solmu Kutvonen (ranked 3967 p4p, 4983 weight class) and Hermo Tumask (ranked 391 p4p, 443 weight class). Hermo Tumask is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kutvonen moves out of range as Tumask throws a body kick.
Tumask fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Tumask pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kutvonen looks to land a combination but Tumask avoids it well.

Kutvonen gets caught napping as Tumask dives in and scores a takedown. Kutvonen manages to retain guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Tumask accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Kutvonen is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Tumask is fighting to break Kutvonen's control of his arms but Kutvonen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
We've been hearing good reports from Kutvonen's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tumask swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Kutvonen is now in Tumask's guard. A big mistake from Tumask there, giving up the dominant position!
Kutvonen is working Tumask over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Kutvonen lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Tumask quite badly. Tumask pulls Kutvonen in close trying to recover. Kutvonen postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Tumask on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Tumask doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Solmu Kutvonen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
