The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Swahn throws a quick inside leg kick. Swahn throws out a leg kick but Vrjalya moves out of range and Swahn only half commits. Vrjalya feinted with a counter takedown. Swahn misses with an uppercut. Vrjalya saw that one coming. Swahn misses with a hook
and Vrjalya counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Vrjalya. Vrjalya trying to control the position from guard on top but Swahn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Vrjalya stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Swahn swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Swahn wants to control position but Vrjalya is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Swahn here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ken Vrjalya! A loyal slave to those sponsorship dollars, Ken Vrjalya made sure he mentioned Fantasy Threads, along with how happy he was to win his fight.
