Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marco Natta (ranked 2027 p4p, 2652 weight class) and Caleb Jones (ranked 151 p4p, 191 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Marco Natta!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 15 - 2, fighting out of Helsinki, Caleb Jones!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
A big right from Natta misses.
Marco Natta seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Natta misses with a body punch
and Jones counters with a stiff right hand.
Natta throws a body shot but no joy.
Jones tries to counter with a clinch but Natta shakes him off and moves away.
Natta throws a poor cross that misses
and Jones cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jones ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Jones looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Jones moves out of range of the strikes.
Natta tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jones was well out of range. Poor timing from Natta.
Jones let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Jones tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Natta paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Natta fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Natta is looking to clinch but Jones is avoiding it.

Jones rushes Natta and presses him up against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Natta pulls guard effortlessly.
Natta is pulling down on Jones's head to control his posture.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones wants to control from the top but Natta keeps moving.
Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Natta working a defensive guard here.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jones is continuing to stall.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Jones postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jones has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Natta is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Natta just misses with a punch to the body.
Natta misses with a hook. Jones ducked under it nicely.

Natta pushes Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Natta misses with some punches.
Natta definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Natta misses with some punches.
Jones is trying to pull guard but Natta turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Jones decides to pull guard.

Jones has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Natta is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jones.
Natta has control of an arm but Jones manages to advance to Natta's back!

I really don't envy Natta right now.
Good control from Jones.
Natta tries to roll but Jones sticks to his back.
Natta trying to control the hands but Jones breaks the grip.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Natta can't escape the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Jones is looking for the choke from the back position but Natta is controlling his hands well.
Jones is looking to control Natta but Natta is wriggling around and keeping busy.
Jones keeps control of the position as Natta tries to break free.
Jones really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Natta.
Jones is not going to allow Natta to sit and survive in this position.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Caleb Jones dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Natta rushes Jones and presses him up against the cage.

Natta drags the fight down to the ground.
Jones trying to control but Natta is working from the bottom.
Caleb Jones has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jones wants to pass the guard but Natta is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Natta wants to control but Jones passes easily into half guard.
Natta is in trouble now - Jones has advanced to mount!

Jones controlling from the full mount.
Natta prevents Jones from taking his back.
Jones trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Natta looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Jones has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Natta looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Natta manages to reverse the position and now he's in Jones's guard. Nice work there by Natta.

Natta avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Natta trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Natta preventing the sweep.

Jones working for submissions but it's allowed Natta to get to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones is looking for a sweep. Natta is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Natta is looking for a kimura but Jones is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Natta to get the leverage.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Natta has control of the leg.
Natta seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Jones moves into full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Natta stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jones swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Jones is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Jones uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Natta.
Jones steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Natta.
Jones slips a straight right by Natta.
Jones is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Marco Natta will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Natta displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Jones throws out the jab.
Natta swings away with a body shot that misses
enabling Jones to counter with a crisp jab.
Natta throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Natta ducks under a wild hook from Jones.
The fight stays on the outside here - Jones looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Natta avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
As Jones tries to get set, Natta tries to push him back and clinch up but Jones manages to avoid the attempt.

Natta moves into range and clinches up with Jones.
Jones missing with knees to the body.
Natta tries to work over Jones's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Jones tries a knee to the head but Natta blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Natta just stands there and leans against the cage.
Jones blocking some punches.
Jones lands a right hand that snaps the head of Natta backwards.
Natta throws a punch but it's blocked by Jones.

Natta pulls guard successfully.
Natta wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Jones is now in half guard.

Natta is in trouble now - Jones has advanced to mount!

Jones moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Natta has worked his arm free - good work by Natta!
A control attempt from Natta but he's now mounted!
Natta keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Natta slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones trying to control from half guard but Natta is working away.
Well, if Jones is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Jones trying to pass the guard but Natta defending well.
Natta trying to hold on to Jones's head to control him but Jones postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones is controlling the pace.
Natta moves into full guard.
Jones trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Natta isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Jones stacks Natta on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Jones!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jones wants to lay and pray for a moment but Natta keeps working.
Jones taking a break here but Natta is having none of it and regains half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Caleb Jones comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Jones has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
