Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Adrian Ortiz (ranked 1653 p4p, 1910 weight class) and Jan Claude Van Damme (ranked 206 p4p, 239 weight class). Van Damme comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wai khru ram muay kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Adrian Ortiz!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jan Claude Van Damme!
The judges for this bout are David Hoff, Bart Greer and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Van Damme throws a head kick but Ortiz moves out of range.
A right-left combo lands from Ortiz.
Van Damme throws a solid leg kick but Ortiz takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Van Damme.
Van Damme looks to land a body kick but Ortiz moved away.
Van Damme scores with a head kick.
A big right from Ortiz misses.
Ortiz definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Adrian Ortiz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ortiz connects with a body shot.
Van Damme ducks right into an uppercut from Ortiz.
Van Damme slips under a jab.
Ortiz stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Van Damme.
Van Damme is looking to slow Ortiz down with leg kicks.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Van Damme throws a head kick that misses.
It looked like Ortiz wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Van Damme's coach down at Cherokees Island Elite Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Van Damme's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Van Damme tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Ortiz connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Van Damme's hands.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Ortiz connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Van Damme! He's out on his feet! Ortiz rushes in and drops Van Damme with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Adrian Ortiz!
