Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Maxim Cazacu (ranked 4126 p4p, 5243 weight class) and Thomas Kerry (ranked 406 p4p, 459 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Maxim Cazacu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Thomas Kerry!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cazacu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kerry.

Kerry closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cazacu's guard.
Kerry is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Cazacu is trying to control the position but Kerry postures up.

Cazacu looking for a guillotine here but Kerry defends easily.
Kerry really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cazacu. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kerry lands a couple of decent looking shots.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kerry stops Cazacu from standing up.
Kerry must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cazacu is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Cazacu throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Cazacu is on top in guard.

Kerry is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Kerry throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Kerry looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Kerry manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Cazacu manages to get himself to full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kerry avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Kerry dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action.

Cazacu thumps Kerry with a low kick.
Cazacu shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kerry as he jumps to the side.
Cazacu wants to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cazacu.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kerry drives through with a takedown into guard.
Cazacu is looking to stand back up but Kerry counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Cazacu.

Kerry is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Cazacu wants to control but Kerry is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Kerry lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Cazacu on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Kerry perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cazacu gets full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kerry stands up over Cazacu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Kerry not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Cazacu is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Kerry is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kerry throws a big right hand that misses.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Thomas Kerry showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Kerry shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Cazacu makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

so Kerry counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cazacu wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Kerry manages to pass to side control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Cazacu tries to kick Kerry off but Kerry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Cazacu moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Cazacu looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Cazacu not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cazacu can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kerry controls the pace.
Kerry lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Kerry is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kerry throwing strikes from guard but Cazacu blocks nicely.
Kerry pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Cazacu is keeping the position for now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kerry is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kerry's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Kerry chips away with some ground and pound.
Kerry lands a couple of elbows.
Cazacu tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Thomas Kerry has got the better of the ground game so far.
Kerry stays in close to Cazacu's body and controls the position.

Cazacu working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kerry doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kerry manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Thomas Kerry.
Well Kerry has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Thomas Kerry decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
