Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Rodriguez (ranked 2471 p4p, 2739 weight class) and Flynn Silva (ranked 310 p4p, 338 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rodriguez shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Silva napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Rodriguez looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Silva with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Silva is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rodriguez is keen to just control but Silva is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

It looks like Jorge Rodriguez has been cut.
Silva lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Rodriguez takes one on the button.
Silva throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Silva moves into range and connects with a jab.
Silva misses with a straight right.
Rodriguez fails with the takedown.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

A little jabbing left from Silva on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Silva feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rodriguezs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jorge Rodriguez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
