PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Boston Bourne (ranked 5843 p4p, 5165 weight class) and Georges StPierra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bourne has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bourne lands a nice shot that snaps StPierra's head back.
Bourne throws a leg kick that is checked

and StPierra decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bourne's guard.
StPierra keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Bourne's head.
StPierra controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
StPierra scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Bourne is breathing heavily.
StPierra is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
StPierra connects with a couple of short punches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
StPierra not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

StPierra passes easily into side control. Nice work.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
StPierra in side control lands a decent elbow.
StPierra scores with a couple of short elbows.
StPierra cracks Bourne with a big right hand but Bourne just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Bourne is rocked!

StPierra decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Oh Bourne is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Bourne enables StPierra to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bourne manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Bourne wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and StPierra manages to pass to side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

StPierra looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
StPierra lands strikes from half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
StPierra passes to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

StPierra has an Americana. Bourne didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! StPierra is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if StPierra hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
