Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Blikstein (ranked 1683 p4p, 1266 weight class) and Hrvoje Palmotic (ranked 213 p4p, 160 weight class). Palmotic has chosen One day I'll be king as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Blikstein! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Hrvoje Palmotic! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Palmotic goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Palmotic fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Blikstein on the side of the head. Palmotic works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Palmotic misses with the body kick and Blikstein counters with a takedown into side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Blikstein grinds an elbow into Palmotic's temple. Blikstein working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Blikstein wants to lay and pray for a moment but Palmotic keeps working. Palmotic felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Palmotic is not in a great position here, taking some shots. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Blikstein looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Palmotic is avoiding damage well.
This has been an exciting period of action! Blikstein working the ground and pound. Palmotic is looking for a sweep.
That's one minute gone in the round. Blikstein throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Blikstein creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Palmotic sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Palmotic is looking for a sweep. Blikstein postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Blikstein in side control lands a decent elbow. Blikstein misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Blikstein landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Blikstein scoring with punches and elbows. Blikstein in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Blikstein throws a strike aimed at the side of Palmotic's head but Palmotic avoids it well. Blikstein trying to control the position but Palmotic is working away. Blikstein tries to score with some ground and pound. Palmotic controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Blikstein cracks Palmotic with a big right hand but Palmotic just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Palmotic is trying to control Blikstein's posture but Blikstein avoids it. Blikstein throwing strikes but missing, from side control. Sloppy strikes there by Blikstein. Blikstein misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Palmotic can do anything to dispel that myth. Blikstein working the ground and pound but Palmotic is defending the strikes. Blikstein scores with a couple of short elbows. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Palmotic dodges the ground and pound from Blikstein. Blikstein lands a nice forearm strike. Blikstein scores with a couple of short elbows. Blikstein working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Blikstein sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Palmotic is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Blikstein lands a few punches from side control. Blikstein scores with a couple of short elbows.
Palmotic is rocked! Palmotic really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blikstein. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Blikstein looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Palmotic is avoiding damage well.
Blikstein lands a strong strike to the head of Palmotic. That's dazed him! Blikstein looking to finish here. Palmotic is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Blikstein lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
