Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jean Claude!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Matheus Cardoso!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Claude fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Cardoso has closed the distance and engaged Claude in a clinch.
Cardoso with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Cardoso breaks from the clinch.
Claude shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Claude was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Cardoso takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Cardoso on the wrong end of some ground and pound.

Claude is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Cardoso's shoulder. That is not cool.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Claude is trying to control the action in half guard but Cardoso is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Claude thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Cardoso's head.

Claude wants to lay and pray for a moment but Cardoso keeps working.
Claude throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Claude is keen to just control but Cardoso is a slippery customer.
Claude takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Claude is nestled in close to Cardoso, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Claude passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Cardoso!
Claude definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Cardoso can do anything to dispel that myth.

Cardoso really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Claude. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
