And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 69 wins and 48 losses; Vasiliy Kulik!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Sam Margolis and Colin Fotheringham.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

McDonald changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kulik looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McDonald wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kulik keeps working.

McDonald is just content to waste time from the top position. Kulik takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Kulik is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Kulik takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
McDonald is looking to improve his position but Kulik isn't that keen on the idea.

Kulik keeps control of the position easily here as McDonald tries to buck him off.

Kulik has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
McDonald is trying to break free.

McDonald is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Kulik.
McDonald is in bad spot here.

Kulik has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of McDonald's body.

Kulik trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure McDonald doesn't escape.

Kulik has the hooks in. McDonald is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
McDonald is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

Kulik has good solid back control here.
You can see the frustration on McDonald's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kulik slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
McDonald trying to control the action but Kulik just sinks the hooks in.

Kulik wins on points by 8 to 4.
Vasiliy Kulik seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
